Christmas Decor Inspiration

There is something so magical about the holidays. I love how beautiful the decorations can be and they always add a special warmth to the season. I really miss my preferred Christmas aesthetic, but I'm slowly getting into my Florida Christmas groove. Yesterday I walked Georgia Ave and had an overload of inspiration thrown at me. There were disco ball + peony Christmas trees, sparkles, and just lots of fun to be had by all. Below are a few pins that are also inspiring me to tone it back a bit and maybe marry the two styles.

Tis the season to decorate,

First Day of Summer Outfit Inspiration

In honor of the Summer Solstice, I'm rounding up a few of my favorite looks for the summer. This year I'm all about ditching my usual black from head to toe look and bringing in bright pinks, reds, oranges, and blues with all white for work.

Art Love: Joseph Scheer at Bergdorfs

Earlier this week I popped into Bergdorfs to get a haircut and check out Linda's store on the 4th floor, but what really stole the show for me were the moth prints by Joseph Scheer all over! Before leaving, I picked up a little card that directed me to the Ruby Beets online store for more information about the artist. I'm glad I checked it out, because what an exciting career path he has! Currently Scheer is a professor of print media and is the Co-Director/Founder of the Institute for Electronic arts at the School of Art and Design, Alfred University. Working in an array of mediums, Scheer's works have most recently been exhibited at The Brooklyn Museum of Art and the National Museum of China! While I love all of the different moths, I have a soft spot for the leopard-esque Abraxas Sylvata. Below are a few more of my favorites.

Future Home: Blue + White Decor

I'm definitely having a major blue and white moment, inspiration-wise. Ever since moving into my new apartment, I've been trying to figure out the best way to decorate my bedroom, and it's proving to be a bit tricky. Needless to say, I've been living in a half decorated room for far too long and it's time to fix that.

Sam McKnight Hair Tutorials

I'm the worst at styling my own hair, but that doesn't stop me from scouring the internet and pinterest for DIY guides and tutorials, especially with the Gold Gala coming up. A couple days ago I stumbled on hair stylist Sam McKinght's website and found he had a whole page dedicated to "getting the look". Obviously I clicked on it and was excited to learn he was the man behind a few of my favorite runway styles. Here are some looks I'd like to try, or at least the street friendly ones.

DIY Valentine's Day Cards

I love myself a good craft day and making Valentines Day cards seems like the perfect excuse to put on my thinking cap and come up with some ideas. I've noticed more and more card ideas popping up on my pinterest feed and some notable ideas on Etsy to help inspire. Don't worry, I've been taking notes. I hope my friends enjoy the cards!

Inspiration: Kitchen Table

We've been using my old outdoor/balcony table and chair bistro set for the past couple of months, so I'm really hoping to get table and chairs sometime soon. Needless to say, I've been searching nonstop for ideas on what I want. Ideas and inspiration include...

Outfit Inspiration: All Year Round

I used to work in fashion, and recently I've been thinking it's time to get back into it. For awhile I felt I hit a wardrobe road bock, and something about this year has me more inspired than ever to update and play around with my style.

Maybe I was inspired by all the tartan and tweed I saw in the UK...

Or these dreamy (yet wearable) ballerina inspired outfits?

But then again, I've always been a Barbie girl, so this outfit is just screaming my name!

However, helloooooo leopard skirt, you need to be in my closet, like now.

I'm all over the map (which is never attractive) and it's fall so I guess I'll stick to my uniform of black pants + fun flats or sneakers and refine my style at a later date.

November Goals

As I've mentioned yesterday, I've been on a mission to update my apartment to better suit my tastes and new space.

I'm going to actually practice my French

Make tea instead of coffee.

Party Planning: Ghouls Night Out

It's Halloween time, which is basically my favorite night because I get to play dress up. Even though technically Halloween is next week, I'm already thinking of the party I would plan...

Ghost cookies galore!

Bats everywhere.

These trick or treat shoes are a great option if you don't want to dress up but stay in theme.

How fun is this Halloween tablescape?

Obviously pumpkins will be part of the decor theme.

And everyone will be dancing to the Monster Mash!
