Pretty Pins for Life Lately

I'm in the home stretch of getting Towerhouse up and running and I could not be more excited. If you are a regular reader and aren't following my Substack yet, please do! I've been working behind the scenes to get it up and running and I know hitting that first "post" button will feel so good. In the meantime, I've been walking the beach with Paloma, catching up with friends and family, doing the Sculpt Society, and enjoying cooking for myself. I may have only lost 2.5 pounds so far but I will take it! It's times like these I really miss my younger metabolism. Pretty Pins for Running Behind

Once again I find myself posting late, and I'm OK with that. It was the kind of weekend and morning that did not lend itself to leisurely writing! The weekend before a big trip is always busier than anticipated and you have to be prepared for any curveballs that come up. I'm also not ashamed to admit I spent more time than I should have snuggling with Paloma, but I'm going to miss her in a major way and I want to make sure I get that quality time with her before I drop her off. Pretty Pins for Cozy Evenings

After a weekend filled with puppy snuggles, friend time, and a relaxing facial I'm ready to get back into the writing groove and doing some behind the scenes Towerhouse housekeeping. I'm really excited about where the rebrand is going and I know the launch is going to be fun (for me at least!). While I'm on the topic of fun, tonight I'm lighting up a candle, opening the patio doors all the way to let the chill in, and snuggling up under a cozy blanket. The crisp fall weather I've been craving is finally here and I can promise you I'm embracing it. I know I usually am a morning poster, but posting tonight just felt right. I'm not someone to rush seasons and I'm embracing all of fall before we lean into the holidays and a long winter. Below are a few pins inspiring me to slow down and enjoy November.

Pretty Pins for a Fall Mood

It's finally starting to feel like fall down here in South Florida! We had a brisk couple of mornings, which are my favorite. The fall-like weather has me doubling down on getting the condo back on track to a cozy vibe and I think I made big progress! I switched out an old carpet for a new one, cleaned off an entire wall and set aside some of the bigger things I need to take out of the condo before trash day. Think old garbage cans, a broken Keurig, ect. With Daylight savings also happening this weekend, the evenings just feel cozier and has me in a fully autumnal mood. Pretty Pins for a Closet Overhaul

Can you tell I'm craving fall? I never thought I'd say it but I just really miss what I call cozy season. I miss stepping out of my old apartment for a walk in the crispy air, the different colors of the leaves, the warm fabrics, and the luxurious feeling of being snuggled up under a heavy blanket. I also deeply miss my winter wardrobe - the fur trimmed cashmere sweaters, the buttery leather, and the scratchy but familiar wool. I spent many years perfecting my winter wardrobe and I'm going to have to spend the same amount of years on my PB closet. Below are a few pins inspiring me as I take on this endeavor!

Pretty Pins for Catching Up

Last week was a major catch-up week. I called friends I haven't spoken with in awhile, got some projects at work done that have been lingering, and finally making some more organization progress at the condo. It's amazing to me that I'm still getting the condo together - a year after moving! Needless to say, I had a nice relaxing weekend bopping around and doing errands I put off this week. I'm looking forward to the days I feel caught up! I know they are right around the corner (finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel) but it still feels too far away. Below are a few pins as I make this final push to catch up on life and set myself up for a successful season.

Pretty Pins for a Change in Season

When I lived in NY I never truly appreciated the magic of fall. I'm a summer girl through and through, so fall to me was the next step to a frigid winter and that was is. This is the first year I really crave those crisp mornings, the change in color palettes, and the natural shift from iced coffee to hot. Last weekend I went to NY and got a taste of those kinds of mornings, but it was still too early in the season to justify a vest and cozy outfit and really only fueled my nostalgia. As we approach the most subtle changes in season that Florida has, I can't help but dream of fall in NY. Pretty Pins for Monday Blues

Weekends down here are never long enough. One day is dedicated fully to errands I couldn't get done during the week, and the other is dedicated to preparing for the week. I wish there was one extra day I could dedicate to just being. In an effort to be upbeat and make room for relaxation, I'm trying to shift my mindset and rearrange my weekends so I get time each day to take a beat and breathe. While Mondays come around too fast, I'm lucky to love what I do, so it's more of a light case of the Monday blues! Pretty Pins for Taking a Deep Breath

After a gut wrenching week, it was really hard to shake it off. I was really shaken and upset over so many things that happened and I was eager for a relaxing weekend, where I could take a deep breath and exhale all the negativity I was holding from the week. I ended up having the best kind of weekend - one spent catching up with friends, cuddles with Paloma, yummy dinners, journaling and a spa moment. It was exactly the kind of weekend reset I needed. This week I want to keep the upbeat feeling going, so I'm leaning into dressing in joyful neutrals, sticking to an easy hair and makeup routine (major for someone who doesn't have either), and adding a little bit of color to brighten everything up. Pretty Pins for A Nostalgic Summer

Is it just me or did Florida bypass Spring and go right to the summer kind of heat typically saved for July and August? It has me wanting a full closet refresh, a colorful patio, and an August or September trip added to the calendar. While I'm just starting to plan out my summer, I know it's going to be fun filled.  Maybe I'm just inspired by my recent trip to NY but I'm feeling nostalgic for an old school summer!  The kind where you're out late on a long drive to nowhere, a special ice cream shop trip after dinner, and Saturdays on the boat with family or maybe even an early beach morning instead. That's the kind of summer I want and will have! The last year was a bit of a crash landing - I moved into my own place again, I adopted a puppy maybe a little bit too soon, and life just got ahead of me. Most of my February, March and April was spent righting my ship and building a new routine that works for me. I'm still adjusting but I'm feeling like myself again for the first time in months.
