I think I need to buy these Castaner espadrilles in every color. I've never gotten more compliments on my legs or shoes then when I wear them. Not only do they make your legs look amazingly fit, they are beyond comfortable and you can pretty much wear them with almost everything, which is key for Summer weekend packing.

Architecture: The American Standard Buliding
CDL and I were walking last week and discussed how we don't know the NYC architecture as well as we should. I'm making it my mission to look up buildings of note so I can now learn all the fun facts about my city. First up on the list? The American Standard Building. Located in Bryant Park, The American Standard Building, originally called the American Radiator Building, was built in 1924 for the American Radiator Co. The black brick symbolizes coal and the gold details symbolize fire!

Colette X Babar
I'm obsessed - that is all.
Just kidding! I think this is a great collaboration, I mean how can I not be obsessed with two of my fave things? Babar is a total classic and something I think is timeless and Colette is totally chic and a great source of style inspiration. I even want to name my first dog Retaxas and my second Colette.

Color Wheel: Blue + White
I'm having a case of the winter blues, so Blue and White felt appropriate because it reflects both the snow and my mood! Although, Blue and white is one of my fave color combinations for Spring/Summer.

Nautical But Nice
I'm a sailor, and when I say sailor I use that term lightly. Actually, to be honest, I used to sit on the boat and tan and occasionally do something involving lots of lines and making sure we weren't last place in regatta's. BUT this doesn't stop me from loving the nautical style! In this summer I'm always wearing stripes, topsides, and I used to wear a rope bracelet - but had to stop due to a slight obsession* in 7th grade.
*When I say obsession I really mean, I wouldn't take mine off for like 5 years because I thought it would be bad luck ,so when my friend's mom made me take it off, I decided to not wear one again due to the amount of anxiety taking the last one off - I didn't think I would recover. Yes, I know I'm crazy and I embrace it.

Russian Nesting Dolls
Nest (n): A snug retreat or refuge
I can blame my Russian Nesting Doll obsession on my Mom. They are just so fun and are beautiful at the same time - I know my Mom has an incredible collection. When I was younger I used to play with them and totally favored the smallest one (like every other small girl)! The organizing fanatic inside of me always loved how each doll fit perfectly inside one another - HEAVEN!

The Monogram
"Preppies have known it for years: who needs LV or YSL when you can lay claim to a discreet EBW III? In face, most Preppies are so proud of their monograms that they put them on virtually everything in sight." - The Preppy Handbook
I embrace my monogram (ARS), even though it opens me up to many jokes, but every once in awhile I get bored of it and when I get bored of it I end up with suitcases with MINE painted on them.
The Preppy Handbook would not approve - thank goodness I'm not a diehard!
