CDL and I were walking last week and discussed how we don't know the NYC architecture as well as we should. I'm making it my mission to look up buildings of note so I can now learn all the fun facts about my city. First up on the list? The American Standard Building. Located in Bryant Park, The American Standard Building, originally called the American Radiator Building, was built in 1924 for the American Radiator Co. The black brick symbolizes coal and the gold details symbolize fire!

Apt Inspiration: Balcony Decor
Now that Spring is (finally) here not only are my allergies acting up, but I'm dreaming of the moment my constant sneezing goes away so I can enjoy my balcony. Last year we finally got a cute bistro table and chair setup and this year I plan on putting in more effort and maybe adding some decor elements!

Party Planning: The Pre-Party Playlist
I'll be attending a fun party tonight with JAW and to get me in the party mood I'll be listening to a few of my fave getting ready songs. Clearly I have eclectic tastes and these are not the typical party songs, but I prefer to relax and enjoy getting ready so this is what I'll be jamming out to while putting on my makeup and cooking up the perfect outfit:
1. The Girl from Ipanema - Astrud Gilberto & Stan Getz
2. Little Lilly - Widespread Panic
3. PYT - Micheal Jackson
4. This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody) - Talking Heads
5. Good boys (Blow Up Mix) - Blondie
6. The Girl from Ipanema - Astrud Gilberto & Stan Getz
7. Let's Groove Tonight - Earth, Wind & Fire
8. Low Rider - WAR
9. All Night Long (All Night) - Lionel Richie
10. Make It Mine - Jason Mraz
Tonight I'm planning on wearing a flirty black dress, simple heels, and a loose knot.

Lust List: So French
Anything that reminds me of France makes me seriously happy and nostalgic. Needless to say, I'm obsessed with anything French.
YUM! This bag is amazing, not just because it's a croissant, but the gold would totally stand out against my all black uniform.
This Canned Air from Paris is hilarious. My biggest concern is that there isn't a hint of cigarettes or a dash of the Monoprix scent, which definitely remind me of the scent of Paris.
How can I resist these Paris pencils? They would have been perfect for me to use when brainstorming at the Jardin du Luxembourg and are now perfect for me to use when brainstorming at my desk!

Inspiration: Bunk Rooms
Every Summer my sister and I would pack up our fave things and head to NJ for some fun in the sun at our grandparent's house. In the car we would count down the minutes until we could hop in the pool and swim for hours on end. Naturally, we needed a place to crash and the twin beds in our bunk room was the perfect spot!
How fun are these bunk rooms?

Artist Love: CONFETTISYSTEM
When I learned CONFETTISYSTEM was going to be at MOMA PS.1 earlier this year I was so excited and seriously could not wait to go. The only problem? The only friend who actually wanted to go with me was on the total opposite schedule. Known for their installations and decor, CONFETTISYSTEM is one of my fave place to go for fun and playful party inspiration.

Procrastination Perfection
After a long week I need a slight break from blogging. Enjoy the weekend and I'll be back in the game next week!
In the meantime, if you could do me a favor and fill out this survey I would greatly appreciate it! All answers are anonymous, so any and all constructive criticism and/or cheerleading would be greatly amazing. I promise it's pretty quick!

Party Planning: Let's Flamingle
I'm totally in the mood to throw a Spring bash and feel like the theme "Let's Flamingle" could be kind of perfect.
I definitely want over the top greens everywhere. Hello - we are celebrating spring here!
Flamingos will also be all over the place.
My friends and I love taking pictures, so maybe I'll throw in a fun background to go with my disposables!
Pink is the mandatory dress code.

Mission: Learn Tennis
Two of my best friends and most of my cousins play tennis all the time in the Summer and I feel like it's finally time for me to bite the bullet and officially learn how to play. I can (somewhat) get by but definitely have the potential to get a lot better.
The bonus? I'm getting fitter in really cute tennis clothes. Anyone else have a Spring goal?
