My Spring Cleaning & Updates

For me, Spring is a time for cleaning up, regrowth, and beautiful blooms. This time around, I find it being more of an emotional cleansing and growing (still waiting on the blooming), rather than a physical experience. About a month ago my company had multiple layoffs, me included. This didn't come as a shock, as our company had been acquired about a year ago. Luckily, I already had my resume updated and was searching for jobs.

If I'm being honest, I felt stuck and didn't have the motivation to up and go on my own. Selling juice cleanses to brides wasn't the worst thing a girl could be doing. As my aunt said to me when this first happened "life's little pushes are good of us, better a push than a shove." She's totally right, I needed that push to finally leave and do what I want to do. While I could give in to the stress and worry that comes along with losing a job, I'm looking at this as a positive and taking the time to really think about what I truly want and where I want to be - the possibilities are endless.

Luckily, I have a few things going on to keep me distracted. I've been diligently working on the project I mentioned earlier this year. I promise I'll fill you in later this month. To give you a hint you can follow my project's instagram account (@towerhousemag). In fact, I would very much appreciate it! I've also been exploring New York and really getting to know it's ins and outs, hitting up the museums, and talking long walks  through the parks. This is all in addition to looking for a job, of course!

I'm Back From My London + Edinburgh Travels

Don't worry, I didn't fall off the planet forever, just for a couple of weeks! I'm finally back from my UK adventures and thought I would share a few pictures that weren't posted on instagram. 

We went to Liberty of London (which we agreed was our fave store)

Had a tourist day and saw the London Bridge.

Hit up an antique market so Mom could explore all the fun and fabulous things there.

Saw the Queens Castle in Edinburgh 

Swung by the Old Course (pun intended).

Drove through the St. Andrews countryside!

Shanghai Recap

"Vacation is a must! Even if it's a 5 minute daydream."

I've been back from Shanghai for a week and a half, but have been so jet lagged and entertaining people that this is the first moment I've had to update everyone. I had SO much fun in Shanghai visiting my cousin! We did so many fun things like:

Biking around all day

(25 miles...yes, I did almost die)

this was a rather eventful weekend! i got to spend some quality time with lila and alyssa and my cousin peter (yay!) also, i got to celebrate arianne's birthday at the most perfect spot...the mermaid oyster bar!

on a totally other note, i am getting all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed this afternoon so my apologies for the lack of posts this week!

i'm back from new orleans and somewhat ready to start the week! i had an incredible time with my family and i think it's safe to say that we fully enjoyed all the amazing food, music, and rich culture new orleans had to offer!

we had a lot of fun this weekend, and while i still might be feeling the side effects, i now have the excuse to have a whole bag of halfnaked popcorn to myself and a red ice pop...or 5!

as mentioned previously, i celebrated cait's birthday in the city at the fabulous smyth hotel. i also made sure to stop by my grandmother's apt to watch valentine's day and, of course, to swing by the journelle sale in union square. all in all a perfect weekend!

this weekend was a much needed girls weekend! dana, cait, and i went out for some casual drinks on friday and had another girls night saturday...

...there were barefoot contessa cakes, cupcakes and animal house involved!

I've been in the city this weekend carousing with COH and friends and then having a reunion brunch with my Parsons Paris compatriots!

long weekend update

hi everyone! we are back from palm beach and very well rested...maybe a little bit too well rested but i think we are allowed a grace period of a day to get back into the NY mindset.

(i also think my dad is having a hard time adjusting to the fact that his bday weekend is over)

BUT we had a fabulous time golfing (let's be honest here...that would be my dad) , shopping, relaxing in the sun*, and , of course, reading!

*i think it is funny that winter down there is like 70 and is dressed in winter jackets and i'm in a dress or skirt...just saying!
