Party Planning: Ghouls Night Out

It's Halloween time, which is basically my favorite night because I get to play dress up. Even though technically Halloween is next week, I'm already thinking of the party I would plan...

Ghost cookies galore!

Bats everywhere.

These trick or treat shoes are a great option if you don't want to dress up but stay in theme.

How fun is this Halloween tablescape?

Obviously pumpkins will be part of the decor theme.

And everyone will be dancing to the Monster Mash!

I'm always looking for ways to change up my makeup routine and this tutorial is perfect inspiration for Halloween time!

These old pictures of celebs just made me laugh.

Just some morning inspiration for you!

I am forever a Brittney fan, but this article was pretty wild.

Top 3 Beauty Buys for an (Almost) Effortless Morning

1. James Brown Haircare - I mean, who doesn't want Kate Moss style hair? This gives me hope I'll get there eventually, especially because it's her hair stylist's brand.

2. Binchotan Facial Puff - I'm going to be obsessed with anything that cuts my already short morning routine in half, so yes, I'm going to use a recommend this. ''

3. Soap and Glory Night in Shining Armour - You need a strong foundation and this basically does almost all the work over night so all I need to do is use the facial puff.

Mantras for the Rest of Your Week

Sometimes you just need a pick me up and I find repeating a mantra in the morning is the best way to get through the week.

Breakfast Epiphanies

Just some inspiration and advice for starting your own successful company.

Not exactly and fan of either artist, but this mashup kind of works.

Accurately describes the waiting process experienced when waitin for my fave auhr to come out with a new book.

I'm always looking for inspiration on how to bring pink into my apartment, and this slideshow is a great reference!

Some food for thought for those looking to move out of the city.

Party Planning: Fall Night in NYC

After a whirlwind of a month, my roommate and I are finally in town for the weekend at the same time. This in itself calls for a celebration!

What is a party without a cheese plate

Party games are a must, especially when champagne is involved.

Obviously the theme is Fall, so a bar setup like this would be apropos.

To add to the Fall ambiance, I would totally add in a few well placed pumpkins

Smore's to-go would be a great takeaway party favor!

Falling in Love with Fall Again

I'm trying my best to be excited about fall, but to be honest I'm totally a Summer girl myself. Hence my frequent Palm Beach trips. However, there are a few bright sides to Fall/Winter, including but not limited to...

Wearing cozy socks, if you're into that.

Essie's Hot Cocoa is an appropriate nail color again.

This basically is my mantra to get me through Fall + Winter.

These add a cutesy element to drinking tea.

Oh yea, I guess you get to snack on some amazing carmel apples. YUM!

Inspiration: Bold Stripes

Maybe it's because I'm religiously using my Whitney English organizer more, but I find myself drawn to bold stripes as of late.

These striped chairs are awesome and a great statement for any room.

The inside of this boat is to die for.

I think these striped balloons are basically screaming for a fun beetle juice themed Halloween party.

These striped pillows are so pretty and make me want to curl up and read a book in the sun.

Bold cotton candy holders

I love love love the sails on this boat.

"For the road" bags are the perfect way to end a party.

Cath Kidston Obsessions

My Dad introduced me to the Cath Kidston brand years and years ago, with a set of amazing pink and white polka dotted towels. Ever since opening that box Christmas morning, I've been a fan and was super pumped to finally make it to the store in London.

I picked up this super inspiring book

Obsessed over the really fun fabric that I couldn't bring home...

Which ended up working out because I snuck a few tea towels into my suitcase!

(and maybe a few bath towels

Etsy Love: Artist Edition

It's no secret I've been obsessed with Etsy ever since I heard about it. I've found many a fab find, particularly in the artwork section. Since on of my monthly goals was to spruce up my room decor, my first stop was to check out Etsy to see what I could find. Obviously I found a lot, but these are a few of my faves:

GirlAndParrot - I particularly love this, just because it reminds me of my bird, Dansko. Sadly Darla, my other one, passed on awhile ago.

Janet Hill Studio - I love pirates and basically anything nautical, so it's only natural that I'm drawn to this print.

Kari Herer - For a change of scene, I looked up some photography and fell in love with these photos!

Party Planning: Book Night

Not all of my friends are as into books as I am, so instead of a book club, it could be cool to have just a "book night" where everyone shares her fave book. What book would I bring? That I'll have to think about.

A storybook invite is a great way to get everyone in the spirit.

Personalized bookplates are a great addition to the party bag every guest receives!

A book garland is a pretty awesome place to start, décor-wise.

Another way to incorporate books into the mix is by placing them strategically around the buffet table.

Speaking of tables, a cute addition to the place setting would be library cards with each guest's name.
