New York City Neighborhood Watch: Chelsea

Even though I'm totally a downtown girl even I didn't think I would love living in Chelsea as much as I do - I definitely felt like a Gramercy Park girl for years. That fact of the matter is, Chelsea has a neighborhood feel that I haven't really found anywhere else in the city. I actually know my neighbors and the local shop and restaurant owners. Even during the scary times earlier this year, I felt safe and like this brought my neighborhood together. Below are a few places I especially love about my neighborhood and a few recommendations.

Lollino is my favorite place for a mid-afternoon pick me up of gelato and coffee. Everyone is so friendly and cheerful, even in the darkest of times. Lorenzo even made a custom gelato just for me to give my dad for Father's Day!

Walking the Highline is something I loved doing early in the morning or close to sunset. Depending on what your plan is for the day, you can either end up at Hudson Yards or The Whitney Museum - two more fabulous spots. I'm so thankful that I'm able to enjoy the Highline again.

Raul is a one stop shop for me - coffee and flowers with a little bit of shopping is all I really need for a great day. Raul has fabulous taste and is actually the Met Gala event designer! Another thing to note, if you're a guy looking to plan a great first date consider coming here. You can plan for either a coffee or wine  date and you can even pickup chic flowers to make an over the top first impression.

Gallery hopping is something that's really fun to do in the Chelsea Gallery District. All of the major galleries have spaces here and you get to see some really tremendous art. My favorite exhibition I saw was Bo Bartlett's at Miles McEnery Gallery!

A solid neighborhood favorite is La Grainne Cafe. They have some of my favorite Chicken Paillard and other delicious French food. If you're in the neighborhood, be sure to swing by for some fabulous people watching.

Come support Chelsea - we know you'll love it as much as we do!
