I was invited to the
Bo Bartlett Center's opening next week and while I sadly can't make it I was reminded all over again how much I love
his work. He's a realist painter, focusing on American life and cultural heritage (according to his website). A lot of articles and interviews I read reference how earnest he is as a person, which is certainly reflected in his work. It doesn't alienate the viewer and can be enjoyed at face value but there are also layers to the paintings that if you look closer you can see a more deeper meaning. One day I aspire to own an original work of his, but until then I'm saving my pennies for a print! Below are a few of my favorite works of his and a peek into his chic studio in Maine.
