I'm not sure how long you've been following or reading my blog, but it's likely you also lean towards a more classic style. While I always wish I was trendier or more exciting in my style choices, I usually gravitate towards the familiar. This is serving me particularly well because my clothing budget is nonexistent right now and I'll be shopping my closet for the foreseeable future. It also makes me glad to have different sources of inspiration, like books, to keep my perspective fresh and inspired. One of my favorite books to reference is
Classic Style by Kate Schelter. If you haven't read her book you should. Not only is the artwork on every page super fun, but Kate also offers practical advice regarding clothes and style. One of my favorite mantras she talks about is "hand it down, dress it up, wear it out" - something I have believed in from day one (hello, well used sweater collection!) and will be practicing now more than ever. That being said, I'm so thankful I have a consistent look that I have yet to get sick of! Below are a five closet staples of mine that I have always had in rotation and never get sick of.
Black Turtleneck Sweaters
Shift Dresses
Silk Scarves
Straight Leg Pants
