Planning for life post-quarantine. New York City is beginning to see the light at the end of the quarantine tunnel so I'm starting to plan accordingly! There's nothing like a crisis that makes you revaluate your life. The past couple of months have made it very clear to me that a lot needs to change. Here is an article from Dave Ramsey I'm referencing for the financial changes I'm making and will be sharing more later.
Living without AC for the near future. I don't know what my living situation is going to be next year and am hesitant to invest sorely needed funds in an air conditioner that may not be in play a year from now. I'm lucky that my apartment doesn't get too hot, but if I'm going to be working from home for the summer, this may change a few things in my budget. I'm very thankful I have a country escape every weekend, but please peep you fingers crossed for me that a used unit comes up for sale in my building!
Celebrating the birth of a best friend's baby girl! I've had three friends give birth during the pandemic, so there are lots of future celebrations to take place when New York opens up. In the meantime, I will be sending gifts galore!
Weighing the pros and cons of city living. With everything that has happened in the world, buying in the city seems more and more like the opposite of what I should be doing. As a single woman, working in the city it makes sense to stay, but on the other hand New York in it's current state is the opposite of where I want to be putting down roots. I believe in my city and know it will come back, but I'm not sure when.
Dreaming of the days when I can shop again. Living on a budget has been life changing, but I'm ready to treat myself to a new dress or a pair of shoes (or even a shirt!). I'll be living on a very tight budget for the foreseeable future, so any purchase I make will be extra intentional. I've had months to dream up what I want and when the time is right I know I'll make a solid choice!
