I don't know why, but whenever I hear someone talk about our "new normal" it irks me. I prefer referring to the lockdown in New York as our current normal. I don't know what the future will look like, but I hope it doesn't resemble the way New York City is right now. It's easy to focus on the depressing side of the lockdown, so I've been challenging myself to see the bright side of things. That being said, my current normal includes a rediscovered love of gardening, shopping my closet, getting reacquainted with wildlife, and planning for my future apartment or home. There is a lot I took for granted in the past and as we've been forced to slow down I realize how much I miss things like going into the office and socializing with an bigger group of people. While there isn't anything "normal" about our current normal, I'm beginning to accept that there is nothing I can do to change it, except do nothing and embrace the positive.
Enjoying a slower pace of life,
ARS xx
