How I'm Getting My Life In Order

Currently the biggest project on my plate is getting my life in order. Since the pandemic, I am embarrassed to admit how completely I let myself go. Think two haircuts in almost 3 years, about a month of workouts in just as long, and living off of takeout - just to name a few things that have gone sideways. I pride myself on my positive attitude and can-do spirit, so I'm not going to dwell on this but focus on how I can get back to place where I'm confident and my self-esteem is in a healthier spot. While I have a long way to go, I'm eager to jump in with small, incremental changes that feel natural and true to me but still bring me out of my shell just a bit.

Joining a gym and moving again. I used to walk 6 miles a day but once the city started to deteriorate and masks became the norm that number drastically reduced. Now I'm anxious to get back on track at the gym and am thinking of investing in a few personal training sessions to get me started. I'd also love to incorporate my old morning walk routine back into the mix. We'll see how it goes!

Schedule regular haircuts, waxing appointments and the occasional spa day. Once the weight started to pile on I was discouraged and let all aspects of my appearance go. Keeping myself on a regular beauty routine may feel so silly, but sometimes it's those little things that give me a boost.

Getting involved in charity work, clubs, and museum memberships. I need to make more friends and this may be a way for me to meet likeminded people. It's a great starting point to at least get me active in the community and practice being social again. Making new friends as an adult is so awkward but it is something that I need to get past. Here's to hoping I make a new friend soon!

Planning to move out of my parent's house sooner rather than later. I'm so thankful I have the opportunity to stay with my parents during this transition. One because it's nice to get so much family time and two because I have really been able to put aside money and get my finances in order.  I will admit though, I miss my own space and all of my stuff. I'm eager to make the next step and getting a house of my own.

Updating my wardrobe to be more Palm Beach me. In New York I wore all black all the time - it was and is still my favorite. But I also love pinks, creams, tans, and blues so incorporating more of that into my Florida wardrobe just may balance out my distinctly NY look.

How is it only Wednesday?
