Fall Style Inspiration

Labor Day is around the corner and I'm already mentally planning my fall outfits. I may be in Florida but I'm excited to switch out my 90 degree friendly outfits for my 75-80 degree friendly ones. I'm not 100% sure what my Palm Beach in the Fall outfits will look like, but I'm really feeling creams, browns and blacks - or maybe navy- this year. I tried embracing colorful looks last year and honestly, I miss my all black wardrobe. I don't think I'll be giving up color anytime soon (be pink forever!) but I'm planning to get back to a more neutral color palette that feels more me. Below are a few looks that are inspiring me as I start planning for fall.

Just one more day until the extra long weekend!

Pretty Pins for Branching Out

Starting a new life in Palm Beach has me doing all sorts of things I would never have done in the past, like going to a party where I didn't know anyone. Turns out, I knew a few people and I have no regrets. Moving has certainly made me branch out and it's been for the best. I was in a rut and now I have no choice but to move forward and grow up. I'm ready to make major changes and maybe this month was the start! Below are a few pins inspiring me as we head into September.

Weekend ready already,

Organizing my closet! I'm desperate to organize and clean out my Palm Beach closet and this is the weekend I'm doing it.

Shopping for the house I don't have yet. I can't resist buying things I love, especially when it's a great deal. I know I won't regret it because my taste has never changed, but it does bring me a little bit of anxiety.

Adding some glamour to my outfits this weekend. I miss dressing up and I am excited I get to dress up a bit tomorrow night!

Meal prepping for next week! I love meal prepping and even though there is much less fridge space these days, I'm eager to get back on the meal prepping train. I'm certain it will help me reach my weight loss goals faster!

Brainstorming different blog posts for the next few weeks. It's always such a struggle to come up with fresh content that is relevant and interesting. I'm hoping to come up with a few different ideas this weekend that I can start working on.

Happy Weekend!

Thursday Summer Goal Check In

I'm happy to say I've checked another goal off my 101 in 1001 list! Did you catch my guide to Palm Beach yesterday? I still have a ways to go, but each item I check off gives me a little bit of joy and gets me closer to my goal. I've come to terms that I won't hit the full 101 check points, but that's OK - I'm having fun along the way and that's what this list was really about.

I'm building my new routine and honestly walking into my first personal training session felt amazing. My abs were sore after, but it was worth it. I'm taking baby steps and setting myself up with strong foundation so I'm on track for success this fall. I wish I could have met my initial goal but life had other plans! I'm still doing my best to keep the momentum going and it's not over 'til it's over!

I hit a milestone last weekend! It still isn't close to where I want to be, but it feels like progress and that I'm on the way to righting this financial ship. I'm back to using the Everydollar app and am already seeing a shift in my mindset. It's so interesting to see how something like this shifts my focus!

Weekend ready over here,

Palm Beach Guide and Three Day Trip Ideas

While I've been coming down to Palm Beach for over ten years I typically introduce myself as a half local. One day I'll earn my local stripes, but it feels too soon to claim that sort of status right now. Palm Beach has a much slower pace of life and while NY often had a jam packed day, PB life is much slower and you can take your time to enjoy every moment. When I launched my updated New York Guide I included suggestions for day trips for tourists, so I thought why not do something similar for my Palm Beach Guide

In my Palm Beach Guide I'm highlighting some of my favorite Palm Beach spots and things I like to do in my free time. Fair warning - this will be more of a "starter" guide. Similar to my NY Guide, my Palm Beach Guide will evolve over time and I'll share many more new to me places and fill in gaps where there are some now! I'm excited to share my favorite finds and will add new and noteworthy places as I learn about them. In the meantime, enjoy my guide to Palm Beach and I hope you try out one of my suggestions on how to spend a day here!

Pretty Pins for Vacation Planning

I've been feeling extra anxious recently and I think a lot of it has to do with needing a vacation. I hoped to take one this summer, but the stars didn't align and now I'm just a bundle of nerves and eager to plan a trip. I'm a bit overwhelmed by the different options I have, but I'd love to get back to the city and visit some family. I'd love to go abroad, but will have to save that for next year. It's been so nice acclimating to Florida life, but I'm ready to take on some weekend trips again! Below are a few pins reminding me to let go of my anxiety and to take a vacation!

Is it Friday yet?

Hoping to try Diptyque's cleaning supplies soon. I don't know why, but it's really appealing to me right now. There is something so extra about luxury cleaning products that I can't help but be tempted.

Taking advantage of all of the end of summer sales! I overspent this month, but I'm ok with it because I'm buying things I need and use regularly.

Planning a no spend month for September. Because I've been on a summer long shopping spree I am buckling down and not spending a penny, except for food, next month. I'm back to using the Everydollar app and I'm eager to right the ship so to speak.

Building my mom's Advent calendar. I'm way behind on this, but last year I made my mom and advent calendar and it was such a hit I want to do it again. I have a long want to go, but I'm hoping it will be ready in time.

Working on a few new ideas I have for the blog.  It's no secret that I want to update my blog and make it feel a bit more "magazine" like and a bit more official. This weekend will be a great time to catch up and hone in on what I want to do.

Bon weekend!

Thursday Summer Goals Check In

I wish I could say I made more progress on my 101 in 1001 list, but I made absolutely none this week. I started on a strong note and I'm determined to end on a high! This weekend will be dedicated to checking a few items off the list and coming up with a game plan for the rest of the summer.

I officially start my new plan tomorrow and I'm SO excited! I'm eager to get back to feeling like myself and I'm hoping this is the kick start I need to get the momentum back.

I'm so far behind on my mortgage goal that it's not even funny. I'm pretty bummed, because I was hoping to be in a different spot. Super frustrating but I can only blame myself! I'm hoping to get to half of where I wanted to be and in the meantime I'm going to make some hard budget cuts to build it up quick.

Happy Thursday,

On Time

This week is one of those weeks where I'm taking time to regroup, figure out how I can be more efficient with my time and what I really want to focus on. Time is precious and while I can't turn back time, I can make more time for what I want to do. First things first, I'm revisiting the book Take Back Your Time by Christy Wright. It's been inspiring me to take a hard look at my future and how can I make time work in my favor. I wish I had a more exciting mid-week post, but I didn't want to put up a full fluff piece and I'm hoping that someone else was in the same place.

Ready for a weekend of planning,

Pretty Pins for New Routines

Last week I mentioned how I'm changing up most of my routines - from workouts to skincare nothing is safe! I'm always a little nervous about change and tend to resist it whenever possible. Recently I've been feeling extra out of control, which isn't really helping my anxiety but I'm working through it and focusing on the end results. Usually change is good and taking the first step is a little nerve-wracking, but it has to be done. That's what this week is all about - taking things one step at a time and embracing the new routine! Below are a few pins inspiring me as I branch out and start a new chapter!

Currently...

Looking forward to the weekend! It's been a doozy of a week and I'm ready for rest and relaxation- maybe even a little bit of retail therapy.

Having drinks with friends tonight. I'm so excited to finally have a friend to catch up with over happy hour drinks.

Playing around with all of my new makeup! I'm not the best with applying makeup and practice makes perfect, so I'll need to start doing so.

Updating my whole look and wardrobe. I'm trying to update my look to be a bit less formal and more relaxed. It's surprisingly hard to find the right mix of polish and casual but I'll keep trying to find it!

Painting my nails and face masking! I am in dire need of a spa night and I think tomorrow will be the perfect night to have one. I'll be picking up some of my Tammy Fender treats tomorrow morning and will hopefully be kicking off my fitness routine too.

TGIF!

Thursday Summer Goal Check In

It's another week of minimal updates. I didn't check any goals off my 101 in 1001 list, but hope to make some strides this weekend. I also didn't lose any weight, although I did look into a studio/trainer to work with! I'm really excited about that and think it will help jumpstart future goals. I also made a little bit of progress on the mortgage front. I'm hopeful I'll end up closer to my goal than I thought. Fingers crossed!

August Refresh

At this time of the year I usually save a full refresh for September. There is something about the back to school mentality that feels right for a refresh. This year the stars are aligning for an August refresh instead and I'm embracing it completely. After a very busy summer I'm ready to end it with a plan and the proper tools so I can focus on executing my plans this September. Below are a few refresh inspirations that fell into my lap in the past week, which is inspiring this early lifestyle overhaul.

As it gets hotter and hotter I'm feeling an urgency to update my makeup and beauty routine to a lighter, no-makeup makeup option. I've always been a fan of Tammy Fender so living right near her spa is a game changer for my skin routine. I'm incorporating so many more of her products into my routine! I will always love Naturopathica, but Tammy Fender is just as special. That skin care refresh inspired a makeup overhaul. I discovered the perfection that is Westman Atelier earlier this summer and am eagerly buying up new products as I finish my old ones (but I will never give up my DIOR lip glow balms - they are a forever favorite.) The Westman Atelier products are expensive but worth it.

I'm also giving my workout routine and diet a full overhaul. I love The Sculpt Society, but I need to do a lot more to reach my weight loss goals. That being said I'm going to join a gym this month and sign up for some classes and personal training. In addition, I'm looking into doing a full detox week to revamp my diet. This will happen once my parents leave, as they always mess up my schedule. Fingers crossed this is the extra boost my routine needs!

Even my wardrobe is getting a fresh take! As we head into fall, I'm trying to pick up a few new pieces in a more updated style. For the past year I've been gravitating towards longer dresses, but I miss my shift dresses and I'm starting to go back to them. I'm loving earth tones and creams, as well as pinks as a color update to my go-to black and stark white. Palm Beach me is much more relaxed in style and a bit - dare I say - hipper?!

Am I alone in this feeling?
