My Spring Cleaning & Updates

For me, Spring is a time for cleaning up, regrowth, and beautiful blooms. This time around, I find it being more of an emotional cleansing and growing (still waiting on the blooming), rather than a physical experience. About a month ago my company had multiple layoffs, me included. This didn't come as a shock, as our company had been acquired about a year ago. Luckily, I already had my resume updated and was searching for jobs.

If I'm being honest, I felt stuck and didn't have the motivation to up and go on my own. Selling juice cleanses to brides wasn't the worst thing a girl could be doing. As my aunt said to me when this first happened "life's little pushes are good of us, better a push than a shove." She's totally right, I needed that push to finally leave and do what I want to do. While I could give in to the stress and worry that comes along with losing a job, I'm looking at this as a positive and taking the time to really think about what I truly want and where I want to be - the possibilities are endless.

Luckily, I have a few things going on to keep me distracted. I've been diligently working on the project I mentioned earlier this year. I promise I'll fill you in later this month. To give you a hint you can follow my project's instagram account (@towerhousemag). In fact, I would very much appreciate it! I've also been exploring New York and really getting to know it's ins and outs, hitting up the museums, and talking long walks  through the parks. This is all in addition to looking for a job, of course!

Happy Monday and thank you for taking the time to read my longer than normal post.

XX,
ARS

The Grand Budapest Hotel

This past weekend I finally went to see the Grand Budhapest Hotel. As with almost every other Wes Anderson movie, I was totally enchanted and felt like I was in a story book world! I was obsessed with the marketing for the film and was especially enamored of all the pink and pretty typography. Now I just need to find a real world equivalent of Mendl's - Laduree perhaps?

Happy St. Patrick's Day + A Small Update

This Monday morning I don't have any new and exciting finds or any inspiration posts to share. OK that's a lie, I always have inspiration to share, but there is only so many inspiration posts a girl can share in one month!

As mentioned in previous posts, I've been working on a fun project and I'm going to start sharing some updates with you all! I'm excited to announce my new instagram account is up and running (hence the picture) - be follow along for all the updates! It's the first hint I'll give you guys.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Shopping List: Boden

Is anyone else loving Boden's collection this season? I've been working on updating my Spring/Summer wardrobe and think I'll have to  add a few of these onto my shopping list. I'm loving all the stripes and gingham featured!

Update: March Goals

As I mentioned last month, I opted not to make a New Year's Resolution but instead to reach monthly goals. First on the list was amping up my Gold Gala promotion, which I did verbally, not exactly through social media. This month I'm vowing to work out 5 out of to 7 days each week in an effort to stay in shape and to get ready for Spring!

Maybe I should put up something like this in my room as a visual reminder?

To add some variety into my week and increase flexibility I should probably add in some yoga to my routine.

Having a fitness friend will be helpful. Anyone out there want to be the Dionne to my Cher this month? Let me know on twitter (@towerhousemag)

In case no one wants to work out with me, I'll be composing an amazing playlist (or stealing a few from pandora).

A great outfit would be an added bonus. Sorry Lululemon, but Solow (GASP, I know) might tempt me  into cheating on you.

Future Home: Blue + White Decor

I'm definitely having a major blue and white moment, inspiration-wise. Ever since moving into my new apartment, I've been trying to figure out the best way to decorate my bedroom, and it's proving to be a bit tricky. Needless to say, I've been living in a half decorated room for far too long and it's time to fix that.

March Wish List

Ever since returning from my trip to Palm Beach I've been in "Spring Shopping" mode. First on the list are these amazing shoes by Charlotte Olympia. I mean, who doesn't love a new pair of new shoes, especially when they are as fun as these?

So I'm obviously not going to get the Balmain version of this cuff, but hopefully I can find something similar because it's so fun and would go with a bunch of different outfits.

I love love love Liberty of London, so I'm obviously going to love any dress that is done in that fabric. I'm loving the fuller skirts Mrs. Pomeranz does, so this one is the ideal.

Wanderlust: The Raleigh Hotel in South Beach

This has been a brutal Winter and although I was lucky to escape the weather briefly, I'm back to dreaming of heading to warmer weather. Although I'm a die hard Palm Beach girl I'm open to giving Miami a whirl, especially if I was going to be staying at The Raleigh Hotel. I love how the art deco style works with the greens all over the hotel. I'm sensing a weekend getaway in my near future!

Tory Burch'S Rodeo Drive Collection

Although Summer isn't in the near future, a girl can dream of it. While I usually embrace my day dreamer tendencies, this time around I'm going to be more of a doer. I just started plotting my warm weather getaway and the necessary wardrobe add-ons. I'm usually not a huge Tory Burch fan, but the Rodeo Drive Collection has be taking a second look. These are a few of my faves:

NY Moment: Famous Townhouses and Apartments

Living in NY is never a dull moment, especially when you're just walking around as much as I do! CMJR is one of my fave walking companions because she is the best at pointing out notable townhouses and famous spots! Hopefully you'll be inspired by this post to take your own walk around the city and find your favorite "as seen on TV and the big screen" spots.

When walking around the UES, be sure to check out the townhouse where Breakfast at Tiffany's was filmed.

I always forget about the Sex and the City townhouse in the West Village (amybe because Carrie was supposed to live uptown), so it's always nice when it's pointed out to me.

Also downtown, in Greenwich Village, is the building where Friend's was filmed. What a fun spot to be in!

H. Gillerman Organics

After quickly discovering my love of the entire Liberty of London store (not just fabrics) it quickly became my go-to shop. One of my favorite sections is the beauty section - it's basically every girls dream come true because they have everything there you might want and/or need. It was there that I was introduced to H. Gillerman Organics and have since then become a convert.

I personally use the Jaw Clenching Remedy, for my TMJ and love it. I.m also obsessed with her website, because there are awesome tips and articles on an array of health related topics.

Sam McKnight Hair Tutorials

I'm the worst at styling my own hair, but that doesn't stop me from scouring the internet and pinterest for DIY guides and tutorials, especially with the Gold Gala coming up. A couple days ago I stumbled on hair stylist Sam McKinght's website and found he had a whole page dedicated to "getting the look". Obviously I clicked on it and was excited to learn he was the man behind a few of my favorite runway styles. Here are some looks I'd like to try, or at least the street friendly ones.
