10 things i love about 2009

well because i think that new years resolutions are too cliche (i have yet to actually accomplish one...not that that makes me biased about them or anything) i'm going to say the 10 things i loved about the past year. it's like way more positive anyway and i'm not making any promises i can't keep. please note i am doing 10 not 9...1 for good luck!!!

1. going to Paris by myself

2. starting my senior year

3. actually sticking with this blog and telling people about it

4. branching out and doing things i never would have done before

5. turning 21

6. being 21

7. barbie and lilly jubilee celebrations

8. my sister graduating and going to college

9. spontaneous gift giving

10. people actually making the trek to come visit me at school (...nick, grace and alanna...)

what do you love about 2009?

Holiday Cheer

I apologize for not wishing everyone a Merry Christmas earlier, but i have been running non-stop all week for my mom (not to point fingers or anything). you know how it goes...it can be such a whirlwind!

DONE

the beginning of the end:

...kind of. i still have 1 final left.

i hope you enjoy these images which show my progression into the insanity of my art essay.

dreaming of paris, not art

this is when i started to lose focus (obviously)

the point where i gave up

and now i finally finished!!!
(and yes, i did feel a little bit emotional...stupid homework)

Christmas Cards (email style)

Anyone who knows me knows that I despise technology (even though I still use it I enjoy all time away from it). That being said I think these ecards are so funny that I'll break my rule and send them. Don't worry I still sent out my real life cards, I'm not tacky! These are my favs that for sure will be sent (at some point in my procrastination filled days) to people. I absolutely had to share them with my fellow snarky compatriots!

To my Daddy (yes I obviously am a daddy's girl):

To my Mom (so fitting sans the respect part) :

To my friends (all we do is gossip):

Happy shopping!!!

finals

it's finals week. probably the most miserable week of the semester. not only do i have a ton of essay's to write (a 15 pager paper and a 10 page paper...maybe not a ton but a lot of work is involved) but i have 2 exams! i have not taken an exam in over a year, the beauty of being a fine arts major. you never have to take exams, you only write papers and create art.

for my art today class we have to write a 15 page paper on an artist of our choice. obviously i pick one of the hardest art classes ever and we have to incorporate like a million different theories that i have yet to understand. due:wednesday. i just figured out which artist i wanted to do.

and that artist would be annie leibovitz. she is one of my favorite photographers. (she did the marie antoinette shoot for vogue that i'm obsessed with!!!)

but i still have yet to figure out my thesis. on a brighter note i have my sources!! i just have to figure out how to make them work!

Christmas Cheer

i love Christmas! The smells, presents, family time...and the list goes on. this year i did a little bit of shopping to get me in the mood. my fav things include these kate spade christmas cards (on the inside they say "this year let's play reindeer games") to send to family and friends! i also got a few other fun treats for myself!

Buddy The Elf: We elves try to stick to the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup.
these kate spade indoor slippers are pretty sweet too!

Buddy The Elf: The best way to spread Christmas Cheer, is singing loud for all to hear.
the nest holiday candle is another great way to spread the holiday cheer!

nature walks

who doesn't love going for walks with your best friend?

it is a guaranteed fun time and a good way to get in a workout.

i just happen to live near a state park that has a beautiful mansion and lots of fun places to take pictures.

cait and i had a blast wandering around and dreaming up glamorous parties we could have there...and the ones that tool place when people lived there!

that day was one of the best i had during break!

GAH

i just recently found out that laduree (still obsessed) and christian louboutin (another obsession) collaborated.
why couldn't this happen while i was in paris?? the boxes would have been fantastic! oh well...

back to the endless hw grind of memorizing lines and writing essays on japanese films.
